Now that the winds have died down and the rain stopped we can take the time to assess the damage done by the storm dubbed St. Jude, the patron saint of lost causes.
People were without power for a few days, trees were toppled, transport was disrupted, and unfortunately a few people did lose their lives.
Now in the aftermath and assessment, many people will be placing claims with their insurance companies due to damage to their homes, or vehicles, or damage to other’s property from tiles off their homes.
As to the total cost of the storm, that has yet to be given, but estimates are in the millions of pounds, with some as high as £500m!
If you have been affected by the storm, your first port of call is going to be your insurer. Insurance companies are the experts in handling claims and they can talk and walk you through everything you need to do.
Placing claims as soon as possible allow insurers to begin processing the claim immediately and getting things back to normal.
